The Pogacha celebration is one of the most beloved Bulgarian traditions—a festival held around the 40th day after a baby’s birth. On this occasion, family and friends gather to wish the new family member health, happiness, and prosperity. This is the first major event at home, filled with emotions and traditions that deserve to be preserved through professional photography of the pogacha.
Usually, the pogacha comes right after the joy of leaving the maternity ward and heralds the next important celebration— the christening. All these events are a natural continuation of the family journey that began with the wedding — the moment when the new family is formed.
As a photographer for family celebrations, I capture every detail—from the ritual breaking of the bread, through the smiles of relatives, to the children’s joyful games. The photos from the pogacha celebration remain vivid memories of a day when love and traditions come together to mark the beginning of a new life.
