I am Simeon Salov – a children's birthday and family photographer in Sofia.
For more than ten years now, I have been photographing birthdays, baptisms, pogachas, balls and weddings – I have seen a baby blow out their first candle, and years later the same child becomes a high school graduate and then a groom or bride.
For me, a child's birthday is not just a party, but a small family celebration - with relatives, godparents, friends, grandparents. My goal as a photographer is to preserve all of this so that in years to come you will feel the same emotion when you open the album.

How I work as a children's birthday photographer
At a children's birthday party, children cannot "pose on command" - nor do they need to.
So my approach is:
I observe, not command – I let the children play, run, and have fun.
I capture the real moments – the first reaction when they see the cake, the hug with mom and dad, the laughter with classmates, the blowing out of the candles.
I also photograph the family – I don't forget parents, siblings, grandparents. I always take some time for a short mini family photoshoot – a few arranged shots that will remain a classic.

I usually photograph the entire party – from welcoming the guests, through the games and entertainers, to the cake and the group photo at the end.
