📍 Where and how do you register for a civil marriage in Sofia?
Registration for the official ritual in Sofia is centralized in one place – the Sofia Center for Joyful Rites.

For 2026: Registration is currently ongoing.
For 2027: Official application process begins on October 1, 2026. Early planning is critical if you want a specific time at the most popular venues or for dates with special numerology.
💰 Current prices for civil marriage in Sofia
A marriage ceremony without a ceremony (only signing with witnesses) is free of charge. The following fees are charged for a festive ceremony:
Photo and video recording rights: about 27 BGN (€13.80).
Mechanical music (bottle): about 27 leva (€13.80).
Live music (one performer): around 240 BGN (€122.71).
External ritual in Sofia: the fee is 346 BGN (€177) – includes the presence of an official at a location of your choice.

📄 List of required documents (Preliminary)
One week before your wedding, you must present at the chosen venue:
Identity cards of the two newlyweds.
Completed marriage declaration (obtained upon registration).
Medical certificates: Valid for exactly 30 calendar days. Do not issue them earlier!
Paid invoice for the ritual.
Document from a notary (only if separation regime or prenuptial agreement is selected).

🏛️ Ritual halls in Sofia
You can choose any of the 6 halls during the week: Sredets, Triaditsa, Oborishte, Krasno Selo, Serdika and Studentska. On weekends, the halls are open on duty, which you will be informed about when registering at Krakra Street.
